Sydney is full of architectural stories waiting to be discovered. From world-famous landmarks to hidden laneways, striking modern buildings to beautiful heritage treasures, there's always something new to see through the lens of a camera (or phone!). I'd love to explore them with you.
As an award-winning architecture photographer, I enjoy helping people see the city differently and capture images they may never have thought possible. Whether you're visiting Sydney, keen to improve your photography, or simply love architecture, these walks are designed to inspire your creativity while building your confidence behind the camera.
Below are the different types of walks I am running. My walks are relaxed, friendly and intentionally small, giving everyone plenty of opportunity to ask questions, receive individual guidance and enjoy the experience. Most walks run for around 2.5–3 hours at an easy to moderate pace. You'll receive full meeting details, any transport information and suggested camera gear when you book. Bring whatever camera you're comfortable using—even a smartphone. After all, the best camera is the one you have with you! The links provided in the Upcoming Walks schedule will direct you to more information on tht walk option. You can then choose one that interests you. The booking fee covers the planning, guidance and photography advice needed to create an enjoyable, rewarding experience while keeping the walks affordable. Many walks come with useful handout material as well. eg. map or tips sheet.
I'm also excited about what's ahead. Future walks may include guest architects and photographers, guided visits to architecturally significant buildings, exclusive access to locations not normally open to the public, and even photography adventures beyond Sydney.

Precinct walks
Want to discover Sydney's most interesting architecture but not sure where to start? Whether you're a local or visiting Sydney, these walks explore one precinct at a time, showcasing its architectural highlights and hidden gems. If you want some guidance on how to photograph the architecture along the way, I can show you my own interpretation with images shown on my tablet or guide you on compositions. While I'm not a historian or architect, I’ll also share any stories and fascinating details that bring the buildings and places to life. I know that a little context makes the experience even more rewarding.
Each walk includes a map so you can return and explore at your own pace. Precincts include Barangaroo, The Rocks, Circular Quay/Quay Quarter, Chippendale, Potts Point, Green Square, Pyrmont, South Eveleigh, Parramatta and the Fish Markets/Glebe, with more locations added regularly.
Duration: Walk time typically 2.5-3 hours.
Architecture Photography Composition Walks
These relaxed, hands-on walks are designed to help you discover fresh perspectives and create more compelling architectural photographs while enjoying some of Sydney's most interesting urban spaces.
Each walk explores a different composition technique, giving you practical ideas to try as we wander. Many people comment on the way I "see" buildings, and I love sharing that way of looking at architecture so you can discover your own creative vision.
You'll receive a postcard with tips and example images to take home, allowing you to build your skills and collect the full series by attending different walks. If you'd like, I'm also happy to offer friendly feedback on your images after the walk.
Whether you're looking to improve your photography, find creative inspiration, or simply enjoy exploring the city with like-minded people, these walks offer a fun and welcoming experience.
Duration: We'll begin with a short introduction to the day's theme before spending around two hours exploring the area together. I'll be on hand throughout to answer questions, offer ideas and help you get the most from each location.
Individualised walks
Perhaps you are in Sydney for a limited time as a traveller and want someone to help guide you to the iconic and extraordinary architecture locations.
